A timeless wedding tradition that a lot of brides use for their wedding is “Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.”

It wasn’t something I even thought about for my wedding, probably because we were only engaged for 5 months. However, I do love seeing different ideas that brides have done. It’s an easy way to make your day unique and a little more special for yourself and those involved.

I polled my Facebook friends and our Studio Veil followers and here are some ideas on how to incorporate the timeless tradition…

Something Old…

  • Handkerchief- Mom’s
  • Pearl Necklace- Mother-in-law’s (gift when she was pregnant with the groom)
  • Blue Broach- Great Grandmother’s
  • Ring Bearer Pillow

Something New…

  • Dress
  • Jewelry
  • Shoes

Something Borrowed…

  • Clutch
  • Veil- from sister
  • Ring- the ring the bride’s mom gave her dad on their one year dating anniversary

Something Blue…

  • Pin- pinned to garter
  • Ribbon- in garter
  • Ring- the ring the bride’s mom gave her dad on their one year dating anniversary
  • Broach- from Great Grandmother
  • Tie on bustle- Seamstress attached

Hopefully some of these ideas inspire you when deciding how to incorporate the timeless tradition into your wedding day.
